In his own unique way, Tobacco can name his songs anything he wants. Take for instance this song from his forthcoming album due on May 13th called Ultima II Massage (Ghostly). He’s called this “Eruption (Gonna Get My Hair Cut At The End Of The Summer)”, and oddly enough the Soundcloud page this is featured on calls this NSFW. I was not aware that merely listening to something that may be deemed offensive is going to be heard by anyone else but you, as if you’re blasting this in your cubicle. In case you are in a public facility, you may want to plug in your headphones. Maybe the music itself is meant to be offensive, so to be safe, plug in like you were Eddie Harris.
You may also want to plug yourself in at Tobacco’s following gigs:
April 12… Morgantown, WV 123 Pleasant Street) *
April 28… Cleveland, OH Grog Shop)
April 29… Louisville, KY Zanzabar)

Considering the music he has released in the last year, it may be hard to believe that New York-based singer/songwriter David Bronson will be working on a set of songs that will be an album of all new material, the first in ten years. Godfrey Diamond will be involved in the recording sessions again to produce, and will also feature guest musicianship fro guitarist Carlos Alomar and singer Robin Clark. The album has not been titled as of yet but the moment one is chosen and is made official, I’ll let you know.
What I am able to tell you is that Bronson is currently on tour, going through the mid-west and East Coast. He’s half way through so check him out in the following cities and venues:

Mike Dillon will be releasing a new album on April 1st called Band Of Outsiders while JFJO will be celebrating 20 years as a band this year with an album made for Record Store Day (April 19th) this year called Millions: Live In Denver. Both releases come courtesy of The Royal Potato Family.
When the guys in Direct Effect posted a photo last month of what the vinyl pressing of their forthcoming album would look like, I said “oooh” which was quickly followed by an “aaaah!”. While I didn’t say that out loud, it is what I thought about as I was staring that the cool colors chosen for what is their debut album, Sunburn. Tiny Engines are responsible for this and it will be released this Tuesday (March 11th). The record, which actually was pressed in four different color variations (see photo below) can be ordered either directly from the record label or for the album’s Bandcamp page. You may preview the album in full over at Brooklyn Vegan, who have the exclusive on the full album stream.
The band wrapped up a small set of East Coast shows tonight, and will no doubt head out on the road in support of Sunburn very soon.
Is all rage “American made”? For a lot of people around the world, the United States may be the country of hatred and horrow and Anti-Mortem touches on why that exists with the awesome “100$ Pure AMerican Rage”, which is slightly different from the “100% pure adrenalin” proclaimation made by Patrick Swayze in Point Break, but it’s pure something, that something that can be felt in every note and lyric in this song. The song will be released on Anti-Mortem’s debut album New Southern (Nuclear Blast), due out on April 15th in Europe, April 28th in the UK, April 29th in North America.
Suicide Silence shot this live performance as part of the Mitch Lucker Memorial Show in December 12th. Lucker was the vocalist for Suicide Silence when he died from a motorcycle crash a few weeks before Thanksgiving 2012. The show was put together as a means to raise funds for Lucker’s daughter’s education, featuring guests vocalist for each song in the set. For “You Only Live Once”, they brought in Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God and as you’ll see and hear, it’s one incredible performance.
The studio version can be found on their album The Black Crown.
As promised, Kat O1O has relased the second volume of her MeowMIx Retrospective, featuring various tracks she has taken part in in the last 15 years, including contributions from the Mission:/Crown City Rockers collective plus Eric Krasno, People Under The Stairs, DJ Day, and more. With luck, you will know by now that VTheGr8 is now calling himself Vee Miyagi. If you didn’t but had wondered when VTheGr8 was going to release new music, now you now. He returns in 2014 in a song produced by Kanabo and featuring Chuck Li in the third version. They’re calling this one “Wounds”, with a very nice abstract feel from Vee that will make people stop and think about what they just heard.
